Rodney Lee Delker

Jul 25, 1953 — Mar 19, 2021

Rodney Lee Delker was born July 25, 1953 on his mother's birthday to Kathleen Tuttle Delker and Leeland Delker in Worland, Wyoming. He passed away March 19, 2021. Rodney was baptized, confirmed, and raised in the Zion Lutheran Church in Worland. He attended grade school and high school in Worland, graduating in 1971 from Worland High School. He was in Pappy Lowe's FFA program for 4 years. He also was a student bus driver for two years. He decided he wanted to be called "Rod" when he was older and corrected family members who called him Rodney. Rod attended classes at Powell Junior College, but soon decided he'd rather sit on a tractor seat and not in a classroom. He returned to Worland and farmed with his parents and brother Randy on Delker Farms. They stopped farming in 1992 but continued to run a custom feedlot for twenty more years. Rod and Randy ran the feedlot for a few years after Leeland died until Rod developed a severe medical condition which led to him becoming disabled. Rod loved fishing with his family and friends in the Bighorns and at Sunshine. He enjoyed many hunting trips with Ted Propp and others and Sunday night dinners out with Ted and Kate Propp and Gary and Janet Thompson. He loved to gather with friends and family, so he really enjoyed class reunions and the traditional Delker family Memorial Day picnic. Rod was a faithful son, brother, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, three cousins and most of his aunts and uncles. He is survived by his brother Randy, his Aunt Libbie Wilkie (Chuck), Uncle Ted Lohrer (Janet) and cousins Michelle Kinney, Marlene Bower, Beverly Gentry, Virginia Baum, Teresa Werner, Marcie Morcom, Deborah Fox and Deana Tuttle; Rick Brill, Tim and Tom Clark, Leon, John and Greg Delker, Joe Lohrer, Justin Wilkie, David and Rick Norman and many second cousins. Funeral services will be March 25 at Zion Church with a viewing at 10:00 and services at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Roger Dobson officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Zion Z.E.S.T. fund and sent to P.O. Box 524, Worland, WY 82401. Online condolences may be made at www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com.
