Death Notice Ronald Alvin Friest August 23, 1936 – October 20, 2021 Ronald Alvin Friest, 85-year-old Basin resident, passed away peacefully at his home on October 20, 2021. Ron was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 23, 1936 to Allan Paul and Catherine (Tomczek) Friest. He graduated high school from Redfield High in 1956. He married the love of his life, LaVonne on June 15, 1958, in Redfield, South Dakota. To this union was born seven children. Ronald and LaVonne also had the privilege of raising three grandchildren: Jacob, Jason and Chasity. Ronald is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Eileen Carlson and Arlene Friest; twin brother, Donny Friest; brother, Dale Friest and stepmother, Beatrice Friest. He is survived by his wife, LaVonne Ann (Jensen) Friest; sons, Ladd Friest of Basin and Lonnie Friest of Worland; daughters, Brandie Gobble of Flagstaff, AZ, Dawn Tinney of Muskegon, MI, Debbie Friest of Lexington, NE, Penny Friest of Basin and Wendy Block of Lemmon, SD; brother, Dean Friest of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Fern Friest Williams of La Honda, CA; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
