Obituary Ronald Roy Osban October 4, 1949 – June 27, 2020 Ronald R Osban-died on June 27, 2020 at the Washakie Medical Center in Worland. Ronald was born in Lamar, Colorado on October 4, 1949, to Earl Roy and Edith Ruth (McDowell) Osban, the oldest of four children. He moved to Wyoming in 1958 graduating from Riverton High School in 1968. He married Georgia Ann Patik on May 5, 1969 in La Junta, Colorado and 2 years later a beautiful baby girl joined the family. Ron was nicknamed "Papadad" by River, his great-granddaughter and the name stuck. He was a very happy and loved guy. Ron's family meant the world to him. He was a hero to his grandchildren, Matt Bird and Megan Hatch (Travis) and great-granddaughter River. He and River would never say good-bye, but "Mine to you the Most" a special term of endearment that showed her love for him and vice-versa. He thought of Georgia's sister, Dorothy as his own and her husband, Glenn was his best friend. He never met a stranger; he had no enemies and was loved by everyone who met him. He could talk to anyone and made them feel appreciated. He loved to tell stories. You could be sure 50% of every story was true. You just never knew which 50%. He joked with everyone. He was funny as well as ornery. Papadad was great at BBQing (the family called him a barbequologist), and loved 4-wheel driving, hunting, fishing, camping and nutter-butter bars, not necessarily in that order. He once shot a deer in the nose with his 7mm at 650 yards away. He was the best square body Chevy mechanic and rebuilt his 1973 Chevy Cheyenne that once did 114 in quarter mile. He could fix a vehicle over the phone when you tell him it's going boom botta boom. He and Georgia remodeled their beautiful house together and he loved growing tomatoes in the garden. In between his many adventures, he loved being in the country and riding his side by side, shooting his guns, tweaking on an old carburetor, and spending his birthday in Deadwood. He was a King for his wife of 51 years, Georgia and his daughter, Crissie (Jim) Arnold. His son-in-law was the only son he had. He would call him and ask if Jimmy was cracking corn because" if he was, he didn't care." He also left behind his brother, Rodger (Katherine) Osban of Arvada Colorado; sister, Rita Morgan of Pueblo, Colorado, sister-in-law Dorothy (Glenn) Pierson of Lander, Wyoming. There isnt enough space here to list all of his friends. They know who they are, and he loved them each individually. He never referred to them as friends because they were family as well. If he defended you he would tell your enemy "they aren't big enough" no matter what size they were. His mom Edith Ruth and sister Ronna met him at the gates of Heaven, along with his father-in-law George Patik and sister-in-law Darlene Fronk. Cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will take place later this summer.
