Rose Marie Capen
August 25, 1938 – March 27, 2025
Rose Marie Capen, 86, passed away on March 27, 2025, at Washakie Medical Center in Worland, Wyoming. Born on August 25, 1938, in Waterbury, Connecticut, to William "Billy" and Blanch Regina (Taschereau) LeCuyer, Rose was the second youngest of nine children.
Rose was fiercely independent and known for her sharp wit and intelligence. She approached life with determination and a sense of humor, often surprising those around her with her candid honesty. One of the greatest sources of pride for Rose was her family, and she loved them fiercely. Her children, Timothy and Mark Danis, were her pride and joy, and her greatest accomplishment in life was raising them to be strong, independent individuals. She was also a proud grandmother to Reese Garret Danis, Tim Danis Jr., and great-grandmother to Korben and Freya.
Her career was as remarkable as her personality. Rose worked her way up the corporate ladder at Uniroyal US Rubber, where she made a name for herself as the supervisor of the Cold Cure department. Her work ethic and expertise earned her the respect of her colleagues, even though she faced the challenges of being paid less than her male counterparts. When Uniroyal closed its doors, Rose turned to a new path, attending college to become a court reporter. She later relocated to Stoe, Massachusetts, where she married Ed Capen. Rose's adventurous spirit was evident in her new career, where she learned to run a backhoe and worked on various construction projects.
Despite her many accomplishments, it was always her family that meant the most to Rose. She was protective of her loved ones and had a heart that was deeply devoted to those she held dear. Rose's last days were a reflection of the strength and independence that defined her life. After enjoying a perfectly cooked steak, string beans, mashed potatoes, and a lively game of rummy, she passed away peacefully, as she would have wanted—sharp and without burden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Capen and all of her siblings—Billy, Anita, George, Clair, Albert, Betty, Reginald, Richard and Yvonne.
Rose leaves behind her two sons, Tim and Mark; her grandchildren, Reese, Tim Jr., and her great-grandchildren, Korben and Freya; as well as many beloved friends and family members. She will be remembered for her intelligence, her indomitable spirit, and her unwavering love for her family. Rose's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her family takes solace in knowing she lived a life full of adventure, achievement, and love.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Rose's life on April 2, 2025 at 7:00 PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Worland, Wyoming. Online condolences and donations may also be made at www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com.
