Rudy “Gordo” Raul Sanchez, Sr., 27 year old former Worland resident died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at his home in Cheyenne, WY.
Rudy was born on July 26, 1981 to John and Roberta (Cook) Sanchez in Ft. Morgan, Colorado.
He grew up and received his education in Worland, Wyoming.
At the age of 17 he started working on the oil rigs. A car accident in 2006 left him disabled. Gordo met his girlfriend, Tamika Martinez in Cheyenne in 2002 and to this union they were blessed with two baby boys.
Gordo was a practical joker, especially to his family and close friends. He never met a stranger and was known for making people smile. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church when he lived in Worland and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Cheyenne. He enjoyed playing pool and spending time with his friends. His children meant the world to him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Rutilio and Ruth Sanchez, one Aunt and one Uncle.
Rudy is survived by his fiancé Tamika Martinez of Cheyenne; three sons:, Rudy Raul, Jr. and Josef David of the family home in Cheyenne; Miguel Davis of Casper, WY; his parents: John (Debbie) Sanchez and Roberta (John) Rogers; Uncle & Aunt Raul (Patty) Sanchez, all of Worland; four sisters Ruth, Juanita, and Samantha Sanchez all of Worland and Jessie Waldrep of Livingston, TX; two brothers, John Sanchez, Jr. of Cheyenne and Dylan Sanchez of Worland; and compadre cousin, Reuben Sanchez of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
