Saul Martinez, Jr.

January 28, 1980 – February 1, 2025

Saul Martinez, Jr. "Junior", 45, of Worland, Wyoming, passed away on February 1, 2025, due to injuries sustained in a car accident.

Junior was born in Weslaco, Texas on January 28, 1980. He was the second son of Saul and Martha Martinez.

Throughout his childhood, Junior worked in the crop fields in various states with his parents and siblings. These experiences instilled in Junior an admirable work ethic that accompanied him throughout his entire life.

Junior attended Worland High School for his freshman and sophomore years. He was well known as, "The kid who wanted to ride bulls one day"; he was also known to be an artist and depicted his bull riding desires numerous times through his drawings. Junior was also involved in wrestling in high school. Additionally, while attending high school, Junior developed a love of welding.

Early on in his welding career, he worked as a single hand welder on the rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. He also worked at refineries along the Texas Coast. He was a master tig welder and became the proud owner of 307 Fab, LLC in 2017.

In the early 2000's, Junior married Gracie Gurrola. To this union, a son was born, Saul Martinez III, "Trecito". Later in life, Junior married Guadalupe Hernandez. He gained two more sons, Francisco and Richard, a daughter, Sheila, as well as grandchildren.

Many people were touched by Junior's kindness and desire to put others before himself. He mentored many work hands over the years. He was looked up to by nearly everyone who came to know him. Junior never knew a stranger, and no one needed to know him long enough to admire, respect, and love him. The loss of Junior is felt deep and wide by all who were fortunate enough to call him family or friend. Junior was a God-loving man who accepted Jesus Christ into his heart as his Lord and Savior in 2017.

Junior was preceded in death by his mother, Martha; paternal grandparents, Gonzalo and Juanita Martinez; maternal grandparents, Rutilo and Natividad Chavez.

He is survived by his son, Trecito; father, Saul; brother, Jesus (Stacy); sister, Perla (Max); nephew, Chito Duran; great-nephew, Ezekiel; nieces, Sidnee, Emmalee, Jeweliana, Alexia, Isaira, Sarai, and Valentina; great-niece, Jolene; as well as, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends who knew and loved him like family.
