Sharon Kay (Gearhart) Cochrun

January 29, 1946 – March 29, 2023

Sharon Kay Cochrun, 77, passed away on March 29, 2023 at the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Worland, Wyoming.

Sharon was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on January 29, 1946 to Loran Wendell and Dolores Darleen (Bevans) Gearhart. She grew up in Cheyenne, graduating from Cheyenne East High School in 1964. She enlisted in the United States Air Force just before her 19th birthday. She was honorably discharged at the end of that year.

Sharon married Dall Curtis Cochrun on July 30, 1966 in Cheyenne. The couple welcomed a sweet little daughter, Rebecca in 1967, but she wasn't long for this world and passed three short weeks after her birth. In 1969 and 1971 they were blessed with two sons, Chad and Justin. 1986 brought the hope of another daughter, but little Hannah was born too early.

Sharon and Dall loved the Ten Sleep Community and their wonderful church family. She was a good mother, a wonderful cook and had a love of gardening and putting up produce. She was well-known for her pickles and when asked to cook, would cook for many! Sharon worked at the Orchard Ranch as a cook for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughters, Rebecca and Hannah; sons, Chad and Justin.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Dall; grandsons, Ty Cochrun of Casper, Wyoming, John Werbelow of Riverton, Wyoming and J.C. Ayers of North Dakota; daughter-in-law, Peggi Werbelow; and great-grandchildren: Paisley, Flynn and Jade.

Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held at noon, Saturday, April 1 at the Ten Sleep Baptist Church with Pastor Chuck Powell officiating.
