Sharon Ailene Sherman, lifetime Worland resident, passed away, January 8, 2009 at the Washakie Medical Center after a hard fought battle with Mesothelioma.
Sharon was born on February 15, 1941 in Worland, WY to Ferdinand “Bud” and Mary Elizabeth (Schneider) Piel. She grew up in the area around Worland, living on farms until her father purchased P & S Machinery, which brought the family to town.
At age 12, she went to work for Adams Variety Store in Worland.
She married Lyle Eugene Sherman on March 23, 1963 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Soon after their marriage, Sharon enjoyed selling Avon and Tupperware products. When Bud took over Robert’s Plumbing and Heating, Sharon took on the books from that business as well as keeping up with Crafty Corner for a number of years.
Sharon spent many hours restoring antique furniture, she also enjoyed sewing, including machine embroidery. She was an avid flower gardener, but in later years enjoyed watching Bud do most of the gardening. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were very special to her and she loved spending time with them. Her daughters say that she was a very good listener as they would tell her all their problems.
She is preceded in death by her parents and son, Boyd.
