Shirley Marie Aurand

January 10, 1933 - March 25, 2007

Shirley Marie Aurand, 74 year old, Worland resident, died at the Washakie Medical Center on March 25, 2007.

Shirley was born in Henrietta, Missouri on January 10, 1933 a daughter of Jesse O. & Dolly A. (Bennett) Page.

At the age of 13, the family moved to a farm north of Moorcroft Wyoming. Shirley started her early education in Henrietta and then received the rest of her formal education at a country school near the family farm. She worked for a few short years as a sheep herder for the family.

Shirley was married to John Aurand in Sundance, Wyoming on June 17, 1950. In 1957 they moved to Worland where they raised their son and daughter. Shirley joined the First Baptist Church on Palm Sunday in 1961. She spent many years helping the church where ever she could, she taught Sunday school, and helped to build the church library. Shirley loved to read and could be found at the local library checking out books on a weekly basis.

She also enjoyed, crocheting, embroidery and needlework she loved baking cookies for family and friends. Shirley was very musically gifted; she loved playing music on the banjo, piano and accordion.

She is survived by her husband John of Worland, son Roger (Karen) Aurand of Cheyenne, WY, daughter, Dolly (Carey) Foos Farmington, New Mexico, brother, Leonard (Carol) Page of Tulsa, Oklahoma, granddaughter, Erica Perry, great grandchildren Alexandria, Josephine, and Benjamin. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Wanda Marie in 1960, 6 sisters and 3 brothers.

At her request their will be no formal service. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church for the parking lot. Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
