Sierra Ivy Patricia Herrera
March 25, 1991 – March 18, 2021
Sierra Ivy Patricia Herrera died peacefully on March 18th, 2021 in her home, surrounded by her family just a week shy of her 30th birthday. After a long struggle of health issues, Sierra decided that she was ready to be at peace and release all her worries. Sierra was very strong willed, and was confident in the decision that she was ready to fly high with the angels.
Sierra was born on March 25, 1991 in Worland, Wyoming, the second child born to Mark Anthony and Rosa Delia (DeLaRosa) Herrera. She joined big brother Anthony and later welcomed Sisters, Samantha and Gabriella.
She grew up in Worland, graduating with the WHS Class of 2010. Sierra was employed at many different places in the community throughout her short life. Of all, she really enjoyed working with children. This was a passion that continued throughout Sierra's life and was
displayed with the affection that she gave to her nephews and any child that was around. Anyone who knows Sierra can recall that she loved to listen to music, spend time with her family and be the life of the party. She was very passionate about being "dolled up" and she was one of the most loyal individuals around. Throughout Sierra's entire life she was big on loyalty and could be counted on to stand up for any of her family members.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Edward Herrera, uncles, Guadalupe and Mateo DeLaRosa, aunt Deborah Hoy and cousin Julian DeLaRosa.
Survivors include her father Mark Herrera; mother, Rosa DeLaRosa (Vic Padilla) all of Worland; maternal grandfather Lupe DeLaRosa of Lamar, Colorado; paternal grandmother, Patricia Herrera; maternal grandmother, Patricia DeLaRosa; brother Anthony Herrera (Cierra); sisters Samantha Herrera (Travis) all of Worland and sister, Gabriella Herrera of Lamar, Colorado; nephew, Angelo and another nephew coming this summer. She is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles, Anthony DeLaRosa, Trinadad Huerta, Isabel Huertas, Ilda Deniz, Susanna Aguinaga, Rosanna Huertas and Anita DeLaRosa, Steve Herrera, Kenny Herrera, Eddy Herrera, Jeff (Claudette) Herrera, Holly Garcia and many cousins.
A private visitation will be held for the family. A Memorial Service for friends and family will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 24 at the Worland, Community Center Complex. Pastor Paul Thomas from the Sovereign Grace Bible Church will be officiating.
