Obituary

Terry Sue Rountree

July 7, 1961- May 20, 2025

Terry Sue Rountree (Carey) passed away May 20, 2025 at Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Worland, Wyoming.

Terry Sue Carey was born on July 7,1961 in Columbus, Georgia to Martha Sue and James (Jim) Carey. Terry Sue came into this world with a fiery and loving soul. She had a personality that could light up the room, and was known for making people laugh. Even when she was young she had a way of cracking her family up. Her sister shares stories of how she would make them laugh constantly at the kitchen table, or how she would run behind the car when they were going somewhere pretending to be a "zombie".

Terry Sue worked most of her life waitressing at different places. Being a waitress was a perfect fit for her fun and loving personality. She never met a stranger. If you would take five minutes to talk to her, you immediately became her friend. Most of all, Terry Sue loved her family. She always stuck up for her sisters, no matter the situation. Her house was full of pictures of her parents, siblings, kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews decorating the walls.

In her final months, Terry Sue was diagnosed with cancer of the liver that spread throughout her entire body. Treatment was attempted, but it was a bit too late. In her final days she was able to spend some much-needed time catching up with her sister, Donna, niece, Jessica and great nephew, Kendreck from Alabama. Terry Sue still was able to keep a smile on her face and made everyone around her laugh.

Terry Sue was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her sisters, Donna (Michael) Leggett of Phenix City, Alabama, and Linda (Mark) Sawyer of Basin, Wyoming; sons, John Lisenby of Alabama, Emmanuel Jay Lisenby of Baltimore, Maryland; ex-husband, Steve Rountree; multiple grandkids, nieces, and nephews.
