Worland

Victor Weber, life-long Worland resident passed away on March 27, 2010 in Billings, Montana after a courageous battle with cancer.

Victor was born on July 31, 1933 to Joseph and Maria (Steinmetz) Weber in McCook, Nebraska. He was just an infant when the family moved to the Worland area to settle. He attended school in Worland, graduating in 1953. He married Wilma Jane Lipps on April 24, 1954 and the couple made their home here as well. To this union eight children were born. Both he and Wilma invested their lives in this community.

As with many generations that preceded him, his life revolved around agriculture. He loved raising livestock and farming. Other hobbies included rock hunting, fishing, gardening and reading. Because of his ancestry, he enjoyed learning about the history of Russia, especially the Volga region. He spent many hours in the study of theology. He was very devoted to his family, farming and to his faith in Christianity.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Wilma Jane In 2003, infant son, John Victor, sons Timothy and Samuel and one brother, William.

Vic is survived by one son, Damon (Mona) Weber of Worland; four daughters: Melinda (Dan) Molina of Windsor, Co; Carla (Kim) Nelson of Cody, WY; Regina Weber of Phoenix, AZ; Elizabeth (James) Edington of Cheyenne, WY; one brother, Jake (Kay) Weber of Meeteetse, WY; sisters: Mary Lenox of Casper, WY; Bertha (Eldon) Schmitt of Powell; Irma (Jim) Meinholz of Apache Junction, AZ; and Betty Merritt of Riverton, WY; grandchildren: Jeremiah (Elenore) Molina of Geneva, NY; Shyloh (Matthew) Godfrey of Corpus Christi, TX; Boden, Avamarie and Isaac Weber all of Worland; Dalton Smiley of Cody, WY; Jacob and Joshua Weber of Phoenix, AZ; Samuel Bower, Barrick and Jamisen Edington all of Cheyenne, WY; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Molina; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Stephen Couch officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Bryant Funeral Home Chapel. On-line condolences may be made at www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com.
